What we collect through this website

We only receive personal information when you choose to send it to us. The website’s three forms ask for:

• Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, preferred way to reach you, and your message.
• Research request form: your name, email address, optional phone number, and the details of what you are researching.
• Great Hall rental request: your name, contact details, mailing address, organization, and the details of your event.

Please don’t include financial, medical, or other sensitive personal information in a form.

How we use it

Each form submission is sent as an email to the Society’s inboxes (for example, info@marysvillehistory.org or rentals@marysvillehistory.org) so a volunteer can reply. Rental requests also send you a confirmation email. The website itself does not keep a database of submissions. We use your information only to respond to you and to handle your request, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.

Services that help run the website

A few trusted services handle parts of the website. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Vercel hosts the website and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested.
• Resend delivers form submissions to the Society by email.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is being sent by a person rather than an automated program.
• PayPal processes donations and memberships. Your payment details go directly to PayPal; the Society never sees your card or bank numbers.
• Google provides the embedded event and rental calendars and the map on the Visit page. YouTube provides the embedded videos. These load from Google’s servers when you view those pages.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising or analytics tracking. It remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme by saving that choice in your own browser. The embedded services listed above may set their own cookies when their content loads.

Donations and memberships

When you donate or join through PayPal, PayPal shares your name, email address, and the amount with the Society so we can record your gift, acknowledge it for your tax records, and manage your membership.

Children

The website is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through its forms.
