What the surviving sources tell us.
The Historical Society worksheet identifies him as William Mansfield. The City’s online historical list identifies this mayor as E.E. Mansfield, while the 1918 and 1919 elected-officials plaques appear to read W.E. Mansfield. The 1919 plaque says Mansfield resigned Aug. 4 and John Hilton succeeded him.
