What this record includes.

The directory covers 1891 to the present. It began as a photographic transcription of the wall plaques and is cross-checked against the City Clerk’s typed list (1891–1988), a compiled council list (1986–1996), and the City’s current councilmember profiles. It remains a working archival register.

The photographed display did not include plaques for 1956, 1966, 1980, 1983, 2000, 2012, or 2019. Service in 1956, 1966, 1980, and 1983 now comes from the City Clerk’s typed list, and current members’ service comes from the City’s official profiles. A former member who served only in 2000, 2012, or 2019 may not appear here.

Born July 9, 1886, at Pickford, Michigan; his wife was Jessie M. Carr. His World War I service record in the Barracks No. 142 record volume in the museum library shows he entered the service at Arlington on October 21, 1918, served in the 41st Company, Puget Sound Coast Artillery Corps, at Fort Worden, and was discharged there in December 1918.
